Which languages the Popwell admin supports, and how campaign text works on multilingual stores.

Admin languages

Popwell’s admin follows the language of your Shopify admin. It’s available in 14 languages:
English Turkish German
French Spanish Italian
Dutch Polish Portuguese (Brazil)
Swedish Danish Finnish
Norwegian (Bokmål) Czech

If your admin uses another language, Popwell shows English. To change it, change your own language in your Shopify account settings.

Storefront text

Customers see the text you type in the campaign: headlines, descriptions, button text, bar messages and the free shipping messages. Popwell doesn’t translate it.

When you create a campaign from a starter, the starter text is written in your admin language. Replace it with the text you want customers to read.

A few things are set when the campaign is created and can’t be edited:

  • The countdown unit labels (DAYS, HRS, MIN, SEC in English). Turn Show unit labels (DAYS, HRS…) off if they don’t match your store.

A few short texts are always in English:

  • Copied, shown on the coupon box or button after the code is copied.
  • Continue, used when a popup button has no text.
  • “You’ve unlocked free shipping!”, used when a free shipping bar has no Success message.
  • The labels screen readers announce for the close button, the coupon box and the bar.

Multilingual stores

Each campaign has one set of text, and campaign text doesn’t appear in Translate & Adapt. To show different text per language, create one campaign per language and use path targeting on the language’s URL prefix:

  1. Create the campaign for your default language.
  2. Duplicate it and translate the copy.
  3. In the copy, set Page targeting to Selected only and add the language prefix as two paths, for example /fr and /fr/*. (A single /fr* would also match pages such as /free-gift.)
  4. In the original, set Page targeting to Exclude selected with the same paths.

Test each language on the storefront after saving.

On the Free plan only one campaign can be active, so this needs the Pro plan. See Plans and billing.
