Answers to the questions merchants ask most.
Do I need to edit my theme code?
No. Popwell uses a theme app embed. Turn on Popwell popup in Online Store → Themes → Customize → App embeds and save. See Getting started.
I saved a campaign but nothing shows on my store.
Check that the app embed is on in your published theme and that the campaign is Active, then test in a private window. See Troubleshooting.
Does Popwell create the discount code?
No. Create the discount in Discounts in your Shopify admin, then enter the same code in the campaign. See Coupons and discounts.
Can the code be applied without customers typing it?
Yes. Turn on Display coupon box and set the button’s Destination to Cart or Custom URL. Popwell applies the code through Shopify’s discount link before opening the page.
Can I show a popup and a bar at the same time?
On Pro, yes: one popup and one bar can show on the same page. On Free, one campaign shows in total.
Can two popups show on the same page?
No. Popwell shows at most one popup and one bar per page. When several match, the higher Display priority wins, and with equal priority the most recently saved one. See Scheduling and priority.
How often will customers see my popup?
With Once per session, once per browser tab. With On every page load, on every page. Bars show until the customer closes them; On dismiss decides for how long. See Targeting and triggers.
Why did my campaign become Expired?
Its countdown reached the end date. Expired campaigns no longer show. Set a new end date or turn the countdown off. Starters with a countdown end 26 days after you create them.
Can I show a campaign only on some products or collections?
Yes. In Targeting & Frequency, choose Selected only and add paths such as /products/silver-ring or /collections/sale*.
Does the free shipping bar give free shipping?
No. It shows the message and the amount left. Set up the free shipping rate in Settings → Shipping and delivery. See Free shipping bar.
Can I translate a campaign?
Each campaign has one set of text. For several languages, create a campaign per language and target the language’s URL path. See Languages.
Does Popwell track sales?
No. It counts views, clicks, closes and coupon copies. See Analytics.
What happens to my campaigns if I uninstall?
They’re deleted, along with their statistics. A reinstall starts with an empty list and you choose a plan again.
