Analytics
What Popwell counts as a view, click, close and copy, and where to find the numbers.
Popwell counts four things for each campaign and shows the totals for the last 7 days on the Campaigns page.
What is counted
| Metric | Counted when |
|---|---|
| Views | A popup opens or a bar appears on the page. |
| Clicks | A customer clicks the popup button, or a bar message that has a link. |
| Closes | A customer closes a popup (with the × button, the Esc key or a click outside it) or closes a bar with its × button. |
| Copies | A customer copies the coupon code, from the coupon box or with a Copy code button. |
A Copy code button counts as both a click and a copy. A popup that closes by itself because its countdown ended isn’t counted as a close.
Once per session
Each metric is counted once per campaign per browser session. A customer who sees the same bar on ten pages adds one view, not ten. Reloading the page doesn’t add more. A new session starts when the customer opens the store in a new tab or window.
Where to find the numbers
On Apps → Popwell → Campaigns:
- Performance Summary (all campaigns) shows the totals for Last 7 days:
- Views: unique store sessions.
- Clicks, with the click rate (CTR): clicks divided by views.
- Closes, with the close rate: closes divided by views.
- Copies, with the copy rate: copies divided by views.
- Each campaign row shows its own 7d performance: views, clicks, closes and copies.
The summary appears once you have at least one campaign. Days are counted in UTC.
Limits
- The time range is fixed at 7 days. There is no date picker or export.
- Deleting a campaign deletes its statistics. Pause it instead if you want to keep the numbers.
- Popwell doesn’t track orders or revenue. To see how many orders used a code, check the discount in Discounts or your Shopify Analytics.
Views and the Free plan
On the Free plan, the views counted from the 1st of each month (UTC) add up toward the 3,000 views limit. When the limit is reached, campaigns stop showing and views stop being counted until the next month. The Campaigns page shows your usage, for example “1/1 active campaigns · 1200/3000 views this month”. See Plans and billing.
