Going live checklist
Everything to check in Metonia and your Shopify admin before you open your store.
Work through this list once your products are in and the theme looks the way you want. Each item links to the page that explains it.
Theme
- Logo set in the Header section, plus a Mobile logo and Logo while transparent if you use them. The Footer has its own Logo. See Getting started.
- Favicon uploaded in Theme settings → Favicon. Use a square image, at least 32 × 32 px.
- Social sharing image set in Theme settings → Social media. It is used when a page without its own image is shared.
- Social media links filled in (Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, TikTok, YouTube, X, Threads, Snapchat, Tumblr, Vimeo) in the same group. Each filled field shows as an icon in the footer; empty fields are hidden.
- Menus chosen for the Header and each Footer menu block. See Header and navigation.
- Homepage sections filled with your own images and text. No placeholder images left. See Homepage and sections.
- Sizing guide page chosen in the Variant picker block, if you sell rings. See Product pages.
- Collection section checked: Products per page, promo tiles and SEO text. See Collections and search.
- Password page: turn on Show email signup if you want to collect emails before launch.
- Contrast of Body text on Page background at 4.5:1 or higher. See Accessibility and performance.
Products and search
- Every product has images with alt text, a price, weight (for shipping) and a product type.
- Filters set up in Search & Discovery. See Set up filters with Search & Discovery.
- Each collection has the right default order. See Sort collections.
- Search tested with a few real customer words, and product boosts added where needed. See Search and product recommendations.
- Subscription plans, gift cards and pickup tested, if you use them.
Shopify settings
- Settings → Payments: a payment provider is active and test mode is off.
- Settings → Shipping and delivery: rates for every country you ship to, and local pickup if you offer it.
- Settings → Taxes and duties: tax collection set up for your regions.
- Settings → Policies: refund, privacy, terms of service and shipping policies written. Link them in a footer menu.
- Settings → Notifications: order emails show your logo and colors.
- Settings → Domains: your domain connected and set as primary.
- Online Store → Preferences: homepage title and meta description written for search engines.
- Settings → Languages and Settings → Markets set up if you sell abroad. See Languages and markets.
Test orders
- Place a test order: turn on Shopify Payments test mode, or use the Test payment gateway (which doesn’t support subscriptions). See Sell subscriptions with Shopify Subscriptions.
- Check the cart drawer, cart page, discount codes and order confirmation email.
- Try the store on a phone: menu, filters drawer, variant picker and checkout.
- Refund or cancel the test orders.
Launch
- Pick a Shopify plan if you are on a trial.
- In Online Store → Themes, select Publish on Metonia if it isn’t your live theme yet.
- Make the store public: in Online Store → Preferences, open Store access and switch off Private mode (in some admin versions, select Private on the Online Store page, choose Public and select Update).
- Open your domain in a private browser window and place one real order.
