Collections and search
Filters, sorting, promo tiles, subcategory menus and SEO text.
Filters and sorting
Metonia uses Shopify’s built-in filtering. Install the free Search & Discovery app to choose which filters appear (availability, price, product type, options, metafields and more). Customers open Filter and sort in a side drawer; applied filters appear as removable chips above the grid, with a Clear link. Results update without reloading the page, and the browser back button returns to the previous filters.
Color filters show circles when your color option values use Shopify swatches.
- To add, rename, group and reorder filters, and to see why a filter might not appear, follow Set up filters with Search & Discovery.
- To set the default product order of each collection or arrange products by hand, see Sort collections.
- To show metal and color circles, see Color swatches.
Collection settings
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Subcategory menu | A row of links under the collection title, for example to child collections. If empty, a menu whose handle matches the collection handle is used. |
| Products per page | Products loaded before the Load more button. |
| Show vendor | Shows the vendor above product titles. |
| Promo tile blocks | Image tiles placed between products. Show after product sets the position. Tiles appear only on the first page. |
| Fallback promo tile | Used when no Promo tile blocks exist. |
| SEO heading and SEO text | Text shown under the product grid. |
Search
The search page shows products, articles and pages, with the same filters as collections. Predictive search in the header drawer shows products as customers type.
To boost products for specific search terms, choose which result types appear, set up the search drawer’s Quick links and Trending collection, and show related or complementary products on product pages, see Search and product recommendations.
